In my last post, I mentioned that God is using us Christians to unite His creation in Him and that He has equipped each of us with exactly what we need to fulfill that purpose. While spiritual gifts are just one part of the spiritual blessings that God bestows upon us, they are integral to living a purposeful life in Christ. Being given spiritual gifts is wonderful, but using them for God is both a privilege and a challenge.

I believe that God has given me a gift for writing, and for years I was afraid to use it. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be good enough. I really put my heart into my writing, and I was afraid to put it out there for all to see and judge. Then this tremendous opportunity to write for Get It In Your Soul was offered to me, and I knew that God was telling me that it was time to be brave. I obeyed. And I’m so glad that I did.

I still have a long way to go in developing my skill, but this job has been amazing so far. I don’t know if what I have written has reached very many people, but it has reached me. It’s incredible. God is talking to me through my own writing. Time and time again, the spiritual topics that I write about are exactly what I am working through myself. Sometimes, it is not even until after I have finished writing that God opens my eyes to what He is saying. I’m learning and growing so much. And I believe that somehow, someday my writing will benefit the kingdom of God and glorify Him. And I never would have known this truth if I had not obeyed the call of God and started writing.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.” (Ephesians 1:3-10)

He has let us in on His grand secret. He blesses us for reasons beyond this life. Everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen in this world are all leading up to eternity with Him in His unified kingdom.

God is working through us and using our skills to bring His kingdom closer to that ultimate goal of the unity of all creation. Because we are in Christ, we are a working part of this great endeavor!

Will you claim this truth? Will you step out in faith, as I did, and discover how God will use the spiritual gifts with which He has blessed you?

I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 (Driving Reflections—Blessing / Prosperity)
