There are many things in our lives that we may desire to change for the better. But, active change takes time and effort and too often we settle for good rather than better. It’s easy to push the need to grow into the back of our minds amidst the demands of our busy lives.
However, God has called you to change and to grow more and more into the person whom He created you to be. He is calling you to everyday sanctification and eventual perfection in eternity with Him (Matthew 5:48). So, if you truly desire to grow and your goal is godly and healthy, all you need is faith like a mustard seed. That may sound a bit trite, but God’s word is never-changing and always true.
“That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, as it is written, ‘I have made you the father of many nations’—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.” (Romans 4:16-17)
The task that you have set before you may seem daunting, but as you speak out your faith, God will give you the means to bring your goals to pass. He is the Ruler and Creator of your life—He made you out of nothing! And just as He called you into being, He will support and call into being change and growth that are for your good and His glory.
All that remains is for you to make the effort. How will you step out in faith and further your spiritual transformation?
Affirmation for today: I call things that be not as though they are.
